Coming to Anchorage:If coming up from out of state, book flights to Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage Alaska. Getting to the wedding venue:We recommend obtaining a rental car since public transportation options are somewhat limited in Anchorage. The wedding venue is around a 30 minute drive from the downtown area. Finding the wedding venue itself is as easy as plugging in "Arctic Valley Ski Area" into Apple or Google maps! For simple around town travel Uber/Lyft and taxis are also a totally viable option. Accommodations:There are a wide range of accommodation options in the Anchorage area. Either a hotel or an Airbnb/VRBO is probably your best bet. We recommend booking earlier rather than later as things do have a tendency to fill up in the busy summer tourist season. The night of the wedding:Feel free join us camping at Arctic Valley! There is plenty of space to camp (tents, RV's), and a few cabins which we will be reserving. Let us know if you have interest in this and we can figure out how many cabin spots are available for folks to sleep. Also let us know if you'd like to borrow camping gear for the night!

Travel

Weather-permitting, the chairlift will be running to top of Arctic Valley before the ceremony. Bring jackets and comfortable shoes.

Dress Code

Here are a few ideas for food, hikes, and things to do in the area. By no means a comprehensive list. Feel free to reach out with questions or for other ideas.

Activities:

2,000ft up a high quality trail at Alyeska Ski Area in Girdwood. Beautiful views. Enjoy a beer at the top with option to take the tram down. Save the knees!

North Face Hiking Trail

Quality popular uphill trail. 3,000 ft up. Beautiful views along Turnagain Arm. 25 minute drive from Anchorage.

Bird Ridge - Chugach State Park

Access the Chugach mtns just behind town. Great starting point for a 10 minute walk or a full day in the hills.

Glen Alps / Flattop Trailhead

Plethora of trails with nice views overlooking Cook Inlet.Conveniently in town.Wide walking/running trails and extensive mountain biking single trackWatch out for moose :)

Kincaid Park

Our current favorite hike in Anchorage. Make it a loop along the Arctic Valley ridge. Starts and ends right at the wedding venue at Arctic Valley.

Muktuk Marston Trail, Arctic Valley Trail Head

1 hr drive north of town. Explore old Alaskan Mines perched in a beautiful mountain valley. Option of paved meandering trails as well as adventurous hiking.

Independence Mine State Historical Park Visitor Center

Beautiful flat and smooth trails in the Chugach mountains for easy walking. A great place to spot animals and wildlife. Amongst the mountains.Interesting nature exhibits at the Visitor Center.

Eagle River Nature Center

Beautiful museum downtown with Alaskan art, history, science and culture. Plenty of hands-on exhibits for kids at the Discovery Center!

Anchorage Museum

Drive 45 minutes south of Anchorage. See wild Alaskan animals in spacious habitats. These are orphaned or injured animals that were rescued. Moose, bison, musk ox, wolves, and bears!

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Food and drink:

Great beer and greater pizza. An Alaska staple.

Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria

Delicious ramen and killer cocktails. Reservation recommended.

Whisky & Ramen

Laid back ramen. Cozy atmosphere.

Kami Ramen

Nepalese/Indian inspired food. Grab and go or eat in casual setting.

Yak & Yeti Cafe

Two locations. Same delicious baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee. Breakfast/lunch. This is the downtown K street location.

Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop

Popular breakfast fare. Nice atmosphere. Sometimes busy (can join waitlist online). Downtown Anchorage.

Snow City Cafe

Sister restaurant to the Moose's Tooth. Either sit in the restaurant or enjoy a beer + food while watching a movie. Pizza, salads, Mexican-inspired food and margaritas.

Bear Tooth Theatrepub

Just across the street from our house. Quality comfort food in a bright atmosphere.

Rustic Goat

Best pizza in town per Matt. Nice atmosphere.

Friday, June 12

Welcome Party at the Peters' Casa

Arrive 4pm There are many fun options for hikes, runs, and strolls around the property and Chugach State Park (which is immediately adjacent). Feel free to come early, enjoy the views and have some brews before meeting back to the house for dinner (details to follow) We are planning on having yard games, animals to pet, great conversation, and plentiful tacos. All are welcome
